About Our Captain
Captain Jason Thompson is a sixth generation Floridian who has grown up around and, on the water, his entire life. Fishing all over Florida’s diverse waters, Capt. Jason has always believed in respecting the water along with the aquatic life that lives in it so future generations can enjoy it to. Over the years Capt. Jason himself has fished in numerous tournaments, including placing in the yearly Flat Masters Series Redfish tournament. Captain Jason has also taken part in several fishing charity events throughout the years to support the community.
Driven by his pure love for the water, Capt. Jason Thompson founded “On the Bay Fishing Charters” in order to share his passion of fishing with new and experienced anglers from all over the world. Captain Jason earned his Captains license in 2007 and decided to chase his dreams and began full-time guiding.
Captain Jason’s current guiding machine is a 24ft Canyon Bay tower boat that can take you into the deep waters for grouper or inshore and into the back-country waters for big snook and strong redfish. Combined with the Canyon Bay hull, It is powered by a Mercury Verado and some of the best electronics on the market.
